This website is published by True Northwest Law Firm, a law firm with its office at 2204 NW 12th St, Blue Springs, MO 64015, United States of America. By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
01 No legal advice
The material on this website is provided for general information only. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for legal advice, and it must not be relied upon as either.
The law changes, it differs between jurisdictions, and its application depends entirely on the particular facts of a matter. Material that is accurate as a general statement may be wrong as applied to your circumstances. Nothing on this site takes account of your situation, because we do not know it.
If you have a legal problem, consult an attorney licensed in the relevant jurisdiction about your own facts. Do not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything published here without doing so.
02 No attorney and client relationship
Using this website does not make us your attorneys. Neither does submitting the contact form, sending electronic mail to an address published here, or telephoning the office.
An attorney and client relationship with this firm is created only by a written engagement agreement signed by both you and the firm. Until that agreement exists, we owe you none of the duties an attorney owes a client, and we are free to act for other parties, including parties whose interests are adverse to yours.
This is not a formality. It is the reason for the warning that follows.
03 Do not send confidential information
Please do not send us confidential or sensitive information until a written engagement agreement is in place.
Information sent before that point may not be protected by the attorney and client privilege. We may already represent another party in the same matter, or a party whose interests conflict with yours, in which case we would be unable to keep what you sent confidential from that client and unable to act for you.
If you wish to enquire about instructing the firm, describe your matter in general terms only. We will tell you whether we are in a position to act, and if we are, we will take the detail once an engagement is in place.
04 Attorney advertising
This website may be considered attorney advertising under the rules of professional conduct applicable in some jurisdictions.
The choice of an attorney is an important decision and should not be based solely upon advertisements. We encourage you to ask about the experience and qualifications of any attorney you are considering instructing, including ours.
05 Prior results
Any description of prior matters, outcomes or client experiences appearing on this website is provided to indicate the nature of the work the firm undertakes. It does not guarantee, warrant or predict the outcome of any other matter.
Every case is decided upon its own facts and its own law. Results in one matter do not indicate what will happen in another, however similar the two may appear.
06 Jurisdiction and admission to practise
The attorneys of True Northwest Law Firm are licensed to practise in the State of Missouri, and certain of them are additionally admitted before federal courts and in other states as set out on their individual profiles.
Nothing on this website is an offer to represent you in any jurisdiction in which the responsible attorney is not admitted to practise. Where a matter requires representation elsewhere, we will say so and, where you wish, arrange appropriate local counsel.
07 Accuracy and availability
We take reasonable care to ensure that the material on this website is accurate at the time it is published. We do not warrant that it is complete, current or free from error, and we are under no obligation to update it.
The site is provided on an as available basis. We do not warrant that access will be uninterrupted or that the site or the server hosting it will be free of harmful components.
08 Links to other sites
This website may contain links to sites operated by others. Those links are provided for convenience only.
We do not control those sites, we do not endorse their content, and we accept no responsibility for them or for any loss arising from your use of them. Their own terms and privacy practices will apply to your use of them, not ours.
09 Intellectual property
The content of this website, including its text, layout, graphics and the firm's name and marks, is the property of True Northwest Law Firm or is used under licence, and is protected by law.
You may view this site and print or download extracts for your own personal, non commercial reference. You may not otherwise reproduce, distribute, publish or create derivative works from any part of it without our prior written permission.
10 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, or from reliance on any material published on it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
11 Electronic communications
Electronic mail sent over the internet is not a secure medium and may be intercepted, delayed, corrupted or lost. Please bear that in mind when deciding what to send us and by what means.
We may communicate with clients by electronic mail during an engagement. Where a matter is particularly sensitive, tell us and we will agree a more secure method.
12 Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of this website, are governed by the law of the State of Missouri without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
You agree that the courts sitting in Jackson County, Missouri shall have jurisdiction over any such dispute.
13 Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time by publishing an amended version on this page. The date at the head of this document records when it was last revised.
Your continued use of the website after an amended version is published constitutes acceptance of it. Please check this page from time to time.
